Contact Resistance Test Machine
Metal Finishers applying Class 3 chromate to aluminum components in accordance with MIL-DTL-5541 and MIL-DTL-81706 are required to perform Contact Resistance at 200 psi using a Kelvin bridge four-wire volt meter. Until now, there was no commercially-available Contact Resistance Test
Machine compliant to the requirements of these standards.

Assured Testing Equipment recognized the need based on conversations with dozens of Metal Finishers, and developed the AT-706 Contact Resistance Test Machine, a precision PLC-controlled, pneumatically-loaded device that measures contact resistance over a 1.0 square inch area using a commercial four-wire microhmeter.

Metal Finishers applying Class 3 chromate to aluminum in accordance with MIL-DTL-5541 and MIL-DTL-81706 now have the ability to easily and quickly measure contact resistance in-house, to ensure that the Class 3 chromate film is being applied at the correct thickness.
